Bio Peeling Face

The Bio peeling is an algae peel with 3% hydrogen peroxide that contains the active ingredient Spirulina, this is an antiseptic algae that kills acne bacteria. It also contains Spongilla which is hard water sponge designed to exfoliate the top layer of the skin. This peel is designed to cause physical peeling.

A 25-minute oxygen treatment is performed when peeling stops (complimentary for models). The oxygen treatment is packed with vitamins A, C & E, goji berries and perfluorodecalin which plumps & hydrates the skin to give a healthy glow. As soon as the client’s skin stops peeling, this would need to be booked in to benefit from this treatment *((within 7 days)*

    This is an all weather peel, however, avoid peels at least 2 weeks before travelling to a hot country.

    Clients have seen major improvements after one week of the first initial peel. Depending on your concerns you may require more than 1 session for desirable results.

    Expect to start peeling 2-4 days after treatment for up to 7 days.

    • Double cleanse with enzymatic cleanser
    • Wipe with astringent lotion (salicylic acid)

    • Bio peeling mask is applied to skin. It is rubbed on and off a minute at a time and left on the skin for 8 minutes - This is cleaned off with water.
    • Anti-irritant mask is applied and left on for 10 minutes.
    • Once cleansed off, astringent lotion is applied.

Pre-Care

You must not have:

  • Active cold sores
  • Bruises/ Cuts/wounds
  • Skin abrasions
  • On antibiotics for bacterial skin infection

On the day:

  • No acids such as Salicylic /lactic /glycolic

10 days before

  • Discontinue the use of Retinoids/ retinols
  • Discontinue topical gels or creams
  • Laser/ electrolysis / Radio frequency
  • Depilatory creams, waxing or threading


14 days before

  • No active sunbathing or sunbed use.
  • No glycolic acid face wash
After Care
  • Do not apply water on skin for at least 24 - 72 hours
  • Do not wet your the skin for 72 hours after to allow products to penetrate further into the skin.
  • A wet flannel can be used to gently dab the skin to provide relief (after 24 hours only)
  • Do not touch your skin as bacteria can enter.
  • No pulling or picking of peeling skin as this can cause damage to your skin.
  • After 24- 72 hours, only use water or the enzyme cleansing gel to wash the area for 7 – 10 days.
  • You can use the Skinbiotics enzyme cleanser after the period specified - You CANNOT use any other product other than this specific cleanser and the recommended spf – (Skinbiotics spf or Eucerin dry gel touchcream spf) . Using any other products will result in the peeling stopping and the treatment not working.
  • Avoid sun exposure for at least 2-3 weeks
  • Eucerin dry gel SPF30 to be always worn when outdoors and to be worn if working near a window indoors.
  • No products on the skin for 7 days or until peeling stops.
  • Wait 10 days from the day of the peel to apply any products

Does it hurt?

The Bio Peeling a slightly uncomfortable peel, heat is produced when the blood cells rush to the surface , this starts the process of repairing the skin’s barrier. A fan is provided to reduce any discomfort.
Can I exercise afterwards?

Yes, you can exercise 24 hours after the treatment
When will I start peeling?

Peeling starts on the 3rd day after the treatment
How long will I peel for?

Peeling can last between 3-5 days with some clients peeling for up to 7.
Can I wear make up?

You cannot wear any make up for the duration of the peeling process
When can I start using my facial products?

Products can be used as soon as you stop peeling completely which is generally after 7 days.
